About the Opportunity for a Buyer

This organization is focused on developing environmentally sound methods for extracting minerals vital to various industries, including agriculture, feed, oil, and gas. The Buyer role involves managing procurement processes to support projects such as facilities improvements, construction, and product production. This remote position requires multitasking, problem-solving, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement and sourcing of goods and services for operations.
• Collaborate with end-users to align requirements and specifications.
• Facilitate bid requests and awards.
• Research market conditions for goods and services.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to maximize value.
• Review supplier bid proposals with end-users and determine awards based on data analysis.
• Interview suppliers to gather product, service, and performance information.
• Align procurement activities with operations scheduling and expedite as needed.
• Maintain records and use ERP systems for materials management.
• Participate in on-call rotation within the Purchasing Team.
• Develop reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information to various groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum five years of experience or training in purchasing, procurement, or related fields.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to calculate basic figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, pressure, density, and capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in mining or manufacturing industries.
• ISM Certification.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage abstract and concrete variables.
