About the Opportunity
The Backend Software Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the critical backend infrastructure that supports authentication, authorization, analytics, and user/account management on the platform. This role contributes to developing secure, scalable systems that underpin core business functions, collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
Responsibilities
- Implement and extend services delivering core platform functionality
- Support authentication, authorization, and analytics features
- Build, test, deploy, and monitor distributed services
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Evolve the public API as platform capabilities expand
- Enhance developer experience for internal teams and external API users
- Own small-to-medium features from design through launch with guidance
- Share on-call duties and manage straightforward incidents with team support
Requirements
- Experience developing backend services in Go (Golang)
- Foundational understanding of distributed systems and operational challenges
- General knowledge of database design and access patterns
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP
- Strong collaboration, communication, and troubleshooting skills
- Proven ability to deliver well-defined work with quality and learn from feedback

Pay Range and Compensation Package
For high cost of living areas, salary range is $143,000 USD - $177,000 USD plus bonus eligibility and equity. For other US locations, salary range is $125,000 USD - $165,000 USD plus bonus eligibility and equity. Pay and job level depend on qualifications, market demands, and work location.
