About the Opportunity:

The Backend Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing the infrastructure that ensures fast, reliable data collection at scale under challenging, adversarial web conditions. This position is responsible for owning and improving the systems that sustain high success rates against defensive websites, managing the proxy layers, and ensuring throughput and reliability during variable loads. The role directly impacts the organization's ability to deliver dependable data to AI clients.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain infrastructure for scalable, reliable data collection
• Enhance success rates against aggressively defended websites
• Manage the health, rotation, and cost efficiency of proxy layers
• Optimize throughput and reliability under heavy, spiky traffic
• Diagnose and permanently resolve intermittent system failures

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend, networking, or infrastructure engineering
• Experience with networking, proxies, or high-throughput backend systems
• Strong focus on reliability in complex, adversarial environments
• Ability to own and maintain systems end to end in production
• Comfortable shipping, measuring, and iterating rapidly
• Authorization to work in the US or specified remote regions without sponsorship

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary Range: $200,000–$250,000/year (U.S.-based employees in San Francisco, CA; adjusted fairly for other locations)
• Equity: Up to 0.05%
