Accounts Payable Manager

The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the accounts payable function, managing a team and ensuring accurate, timely invoice and payment processing while supporting the organization’s financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of accounts payable clerks
• Provide training and support to ensure accurate and efficient transaction processing
• Conduct performance evaluations and implement staff development plans
• Oversee the full accounts payable process from invoice receipt to payment
• Ensure compliance with policies, legal requirements, and accounting standards
• Develop and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
• Resolve vendor invoice or payment discrepancies promptly
• Enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Prepare and review accounts payable reports and provide management insights
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts payable reports
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and issue annual 1099 forms
• Identify and recommend improvements to accounts payable processes and systems
• Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations in all accounts payable activities
• Maintain accurate documentation of accounts payable transactions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable or related financial role
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and accounts payable processes
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
