About the role
Government Bid Writer
We are seeking an experienced tender/RFP writer to manage our government bid pipeline end-to-end. This includes identifying suitable opportunities, evaluating their potential, and crafting compelling, compliant responses that lead to successful wins. This is a contractor role, initially part-time and based on live opportunities, with a clear path to a full-time engagement as our public-sector pipeline expands.
What You'll Do

- Shortlist and Qualify: Screen tenders against our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and bid/no-bid criteria, identifying high-value, high-probability opportunities and filtering out poor fits.
- Write to Win: Produce clear, persuasive, and fully compliant responses that address every evaluation criterion, develop strong win themes, adhere to format and length limits, and include all required attachments.
- Own the Process: Manage submission timelines and logistics to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Utilize AI Effectively: Leverage AI tools for research and drafting, but personally review, fact-check, and edit all content to ensure quality and accuracy. AI is a tool to assist, not replace, the writer.
- Collaborate: Work with our team to gather technical details, pricing information, and supporting evidence.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in finding and writing successful government/public-sector tenders, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, or ITTs.
- A strong track record in one or more of our target markets: US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, or UK public procurement.
- Preferred experience in tech or legal sectors, specifically bids for SaaS, AI, data, court reporting/legal, or technology products and services.
- Excellent written English skills and the ability to communicate dense, technical offerings clearly and compellingly.
- Comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and making sound bid/no-bid decisions.
- Proficiency with AI writing/research tools and a disciplined approach to reviewing and editing AI-generated output.
