About the Team

The Integrated Performance team owns the holistic view of how Terran R comes together, from trajectory design and aerodynamics to reliability analysis. Working across the full launch system, team members engage in simulations, hands-on hardware interactions, and cross-functional collaborative efforts to drive meaningful programmatic change.

Core Responsibilities

  • Integrate design data into full customer mission simulations
  • Develop and enhance software tooling for trajectory optimization
  • Lead interdisciplinary design trade analyses
  • Define and maintain vehicle and trajectory design requirements

About the Role

As a Design Analysis & Optimization Engineer I, you will carry out engineering design trade analyses, implement and improve simulation software, and collaborate cross-functionally with Vehicle Engineering teams.

About You

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related fields
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary team projects
  • Knowledge of numerical techniques, ODE's, and optimization routines
  • Proficiency in high-level languages such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with launch vehicles and trajectory design
  • Experience in startup or agile environments
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis effectively
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and dependency management

Compensation & Benefits

Hiring Range

$119,000—$150,700 USD
