About Relativity Space

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets for today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit and unlock new opportunities in science, exploration, and innovation. Joining Relativity means having autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level.

About the Team

The Additive Technology team and Robotics Team operate at the frontier of R&D, merging hardware with software. They work with welders, robotics engineers, data scientists, and simulation engineers to create an end-to-end additive manufacturing and robotic path-planning platform.

About the Role

As a Senior Computational Design Engineer, you will develop strategies, algorithms, and workflows for generating, analyzing, and processing complex geometries intended for Wire-Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). Collaborating with robotics engineers, weld engineers, and simulation engineers, your responsibilities include:

  • Develop meshing algorithms for generating, evaluating, and simulating complex geometries.
  • Collaborate with simulation and weld engineers to improve workflows from CAD design to production.
  • Define and implement rules for 2D and 3D mesh generation techniques.

About You

You are a skilled computational designer with deep expertise in advanced mesh generation and additive manufacturing principles. A BS in a relevant field, 3+ years of experience, strong scripting (Python, C#, C++), and experience with version control and closed loop systems are required. Effective communication and a passion for solving complex geometric problems are key.

Compensation & Benefits

Relativity Space offers a competitive salary and equity, generous PTO, parental leave, and a learning stipend as part of its total rewards package.
