Location: Austin, TX (Local Candidates Only)
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 2 days onsite (Monday & Tuesday), 3 days remote
Duration: Starts around 07/01/2026 with possible extensions/renewals
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of Database Administration experience
- Strong Data Warehouse and Data Mart experience
- Experience with Data Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Normalized Models)
- ETL tools experience (Informatica, IBM DataStage, or similar)
- Enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, etc.
- Reporting/Analytics tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy
- Strong SQL and database performance tuning experience
- Database security, backup/recovery, migrations, and documentation experience

Role Responsibilities:
This role requires 4-7 years of experience in database administration. You will be responsible for entering codes to create production databases, monitoring database performance, and directing changes to the data management system. You will review and correct programs, answer user questions, and confer with coworkers to determine the impact of database changes. Modifying database programs for performance tuning is a key aspect of this role. You will provide assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, ensuring consistency with structural parameters. Evaluating user requests for new data elements and systems, incorporating them into the existing environment, and providing technical assistance will also be part of your duties. You will coordinate data use to ensure integrity and control redundancy, load databases, and reorganize as needed. Performing data modeling, including logical and physical data modeling, designing relational database models, and creating physical data models from logical models is required. You will also perform security recovery procedures, determine and implement database search strategies, and maintain the data dictionary. Monitoring database performance and recommending efficiency improvements, creating test database environments, and executing procedures for saving, retrieving, and recovering databases from failures are essential. You will assist with establishing and enhancing database security standards and monitoring disaster recovery procedures. Furthermore, you will assist with the installation of database software and analyzing, designing, and implementing databases. Experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming is beneficial, along with knowledge of programming languages, database structures, and current technologies. Ensuring user interfaces and data access are compliant with accessibility standards and providing support for EIR Accessibility issues is also expected.
- Supports the installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels, and tests the migrations to ensure data reliability and functionality.
- Analyzes, designs, modifies, and maintains database structures.
- Designs and implements procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures.
- Establishes and implements database security controls and user access levels.
- Evaluates and recommends database software packages for potential acquisition.
- Prepares and develops database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries.
