About the Role: AI Agent Engineer - Warsaw, Poland

Redpanda seeks a proactive AI Agent Engineer for our Warsaw, Poland team. Ideal candidates balance speed and quality, are comfortable with open-ended challenges, and take initiative. You will be instrumental in building the Agentic Data Plane, a platform enabling enterprises to deploy AI agents across their data infrastructure safely. This role involves automating internal operations using AI agents, reporting into Engineering. You'll collaborate with G&A teams (HR, Finance, Legal) to identify productivity enhancements, design agentic workflows, integrate data sources, ensure observability and governance, and expand ADP capabilities. You will also contribute to product improvements by working closely with other engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Practice Customer Obsession: Partner with internal stakeholders in Finance, HR, and Legal to understand their workflows and pinpoint high-impact AI automation opportunities.
• Win as a Team: Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical possibilities with business needs, ensuring AI agents empower colleagues.
• Build & Deploy Agents: Design, develop, and maintain AI agents and agentic workflows using LLMs to automate complex tasks.
• Rapid Prototyping: Quickly move from concept to prototype, iterating rapidly based on user feedback.
• Operationalize AI: Ensure AI tools are reliable, measurable, and integrated seamlessly into our existing systems.
• Be a Good Human: Approach all internal requests with empathy and kindness, building AI tools that support and empower people.
• Utilize Leading AI Tools: Leverage Redpanda’s Agentic Data Plane and other industry-leading Agentic tools.

Qualifications:

• Foundational Engineering Skills: Proficient in software engineering best practices (Git, testing, clean code).
• Familiarity with Agentic Architectures: Understanding of agentic workflows, data source connectivity, security, data access, application permissions, and audit logging.
• Collaborative Spirit: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical peers and a drive for collective success.
• Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and a bias for action in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Professional Integrity: Commitment to ethical, transparent AI development and being a supportive teammate.
• Professional English Fluency: Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional meetings.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AI tools for software development (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• A portfolio of AI projects (bots, agents, automations).
• Experience with Redpanda, Apache Kafka, or similar event streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with G&A tooling (e.g., Greenhouse, Netsuite, Ironclad, Slack API).
• Previous experience in a startup or forward-deployed role.
