Team Description
The Reddit Answers team is creating a new AI-powered search experience that surfaces real opinions and conversations from Reddit’s vast content. This effort leverages underused data and modern AI techniques to build an innovative search engine.
Role Description
As a Staff Frontend Software Engineer, you will ideate, design, build, and scale products within the Reddit Answers product space, with a focus on Reddit’s web platform. You will work across the full stack in collaboration with Product, Design, ML, and Data Science teams. This is a chance to impact hundreds of millions of users globally and directly shape product evolution.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship experiments and features for millions of users.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to enhance user experiences.
- Shape team strategy with insights and alignment toward shared objectives.
- Participate in product reviews and discussions to scope and prioritize needs.
- Mentor peers and maintain high standards of code quality and UX.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in web application development using JavaScript or related languages.
- Experience with frontend frameworks like React and SSR frameworks such as Next.js.
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript and web performance.
- Product sense to translate data and user feedback into features.
- Experience in additional programming languages (e.g., Python, Go) and software best practices.

Pay Transparency
This role has a base salary range of $217,000 to $303,900 USD, plus potential equity and commission. Interview recordings may be collected, with an option to opt out prior to scheduling.
