About the Ads Data Science Team
The Ads Data Science team leverages data to create value for advertisers through robust data foundations, advanced metrics, and strategic insights. They tackle challenges in ads targeting, relevance modeling, auction optimization, measurement, and user experience using cutting-edge data science techniques.
About the Role - Data Scientist, Ads
The Data Scientist role is central to developing and applying sophisticated models and methods to enhance Reddit's advertising platform. You will collaborate with teams across product, engineering, sales, and marketing to identify opportunities, define metrics, and build impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop machine learning models for anomaly detection and prediction.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate across multiple teams to translate requirements into data science solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in ML and data science.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Masters or Ph.D.).
- Industry experience: 3+ years for M.S. holders, 2+ years for Ph.D. holders.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, causal inference, and experimental design.
- Experience with tools like Spark, Hadoop, Hive or BigQuery.
- Proficiency in Python or R and machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
- Solid SQL and relational database skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for Reddit and online advertising.
Bonus Points
- Experience in online advertising and ad tech.
- Expertise in causal inference and A/B testing.
- Contributions to open-source projects or research publications.
