Medical Editor at Red Nucleus

Red Nucleus is seeking a Medical Editor to join our global team. This position is based remotely out of Canada, contributing to our purpose of advancing knowledge to improve lives. How You Will Contribute as a Medical Editor

As a Medical Editor at Red Nucleus, you will be an integral part of our Medical Communications team. You will primarily review final drafts from Medical Writers, ensuring they are error-free, easy to read, and adhere to both Red Nucleus's and client editorial styles. This role requires a passion for writing, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure. A passion for science, innovative thinking, and a positive, collaborative team-player mindset are essential. You must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing, dynamic environment, demonstrating motivation, self-starting capabilities, independence, and a results-oriented approach. Excellent written communication skills are paramount.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Edit copy to correct errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation, ensure stylistic consistency, and enhance readability.
  • Work within copy deck formats to appropriately record changes, style decisions, source materials, and referencing requirements.
  • Review IA/wires/functional specifications for branding, flow, correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Proofread designs and builds to verify content inclusion, check formatting against specifications, identify layout issues, and ensure overall comprehension.
  • Review scripts, storyboards, and animation work for complete content inclusion and client feedback.
  • Adapt existing medical copy and write new copy as needed, with research support from a medical writer.

About You

We are looking for candidates with a BA/BSc or at least 5 years of related industry experience. A minimum of three years in copywriting/editing is required, with previous pharma/agency experience being beneficial. You should possess exemplary written communication skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, naturally inquisitive, and attentive. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively and independently on multiple tasks within a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment are crucial. You must also be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Diversity Statement

The compensation range for this Medical Editor role is $68,251 to $87,757 CAN. Compensation will be determined based on an applicant’s skills, competencies, experience, and qualifications, with potential for progression over time based on performance, tenure, and internal equity.
