Overview

The Consultant, Containerization and Cloud-native Technologies at Red Hat is a hands-on subject matter expert specializing in Red Hat OpenShift and containerization. You will work directly with customers to accelerate their application modernization and DevOps journeys by implementing containerized solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Implement Red Hat OpenShift projects to achieve key milestones.
  • Collaborate with customer teams to automate deployment and scaling of containerized applications.
  • Share best practices for operating a robust container platform.
  • Troubleshoot challenges related to platform, networking, storage, and integration.
  • Contribute to documentation including guides, runbooks, and diagrams.
  • Integrate OpenShift with customer CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

What You Will Bring

  • 3+ years in a hands-on tech role (consulting, SRE, platform operations).
  • 2+ years experience with Red Hat OpenShift or upstream Kubernetes in enterprises.
  • Solid RHEL administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.
  • Understanding of CI/CD with tools such as Jenkins, Tekton, or ArgoCD.
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Nice to Have

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience with SDN such as OVN-Kubernetes and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Knowledge of container-native storage (OpenShift Data Foundation, Ceph, Portworx).
  • Familiarity with container security best practices and tools.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience deploying/managing OpenShift on bare metal, VMware, OpenStack, or public clouds.
  • Understanding of OpenShift Virtualization.

What Your First Year Will Look Like

  • Within 2 months: Complete a customized training program and master OpenShift best practices.
  • Within 6 months: Become a key technical contributor on customer projects.
  • Within 12 months: Demonstrate technical leadership and implement complex enterprise-grade solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $113,500.00 - $181,440.00. Compensation is determined based on several factors including job location, experience, skills and market value. For Remote-US locations, salary may vary. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and many additional benefits for full time, permanent associates in the United States.
