Job Title: Porter

Department: Maintenance Reports To: Property Manager or Building Superintendent

Areas of Responsibility

  • Remove garbage and recycling, prepare for sanitation pick-up
  • Follow e cycle regulations and recycling obligations
  • Sweep, mop, buff and wax interior public areas and lobby
  • Sweep and wash sidewalks and exterior passageways
  • Assist with vacant apartment preparation and perform minor repairs
  • Maintain workshop, storage and company tools in good order
  • Manage physical maintenance for vacant units, public areas, and grounds
  • Experience with snow removal and operation of floor cleaning machines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions

The role requires working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, performing medium to heavy physical tasks, and consistent professional interaction with residents and co-workers.

Minimum Experience & Skills

  • 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance and/or construction
  • Basic knowledge of janitorial procedures and floor care
  • ALC lead paint certification
  • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
