Job Overview - Handyperson
Reporting to the Property Manager or Building Superintendent in the Maintenance department, the Handyperson will ensure that buildings and grounds are well maintained and secure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor building and grounds for neat presentation.
- Perform minor painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other related maintenance tasks.
- Follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Store supplies appropriately and maintain tools.
- Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, cultivating flower beds, and snow/ice/debris removal.
- Dispose of trash in designated areas.
- Report major repairs and emergency issues immediately.
- Adhere to all company health and safety procedures.
- Participate in emergency on-call duties as assigned.
- Handle other related duties as required.
Essential Job Functions
The candidate must be able to work in all weather conditions, handle medium to heavy physical tasks, and demonstrate good eye/hand coordination.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or construction supervision is ideal.
- Basic knowledge of janitorial procedures and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- ALC lead paint certification is a plus.
