Job Details

Department: Maintenance Reports To: Property Manager or Building Superintendent

Areas of Responsibility

  • Monitor building and grounds for neat presentation
  • Perform minor painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other maintenance activities
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Store supplies appropriately
  • Maintain grounds including mowing, trimming, cultivating flower beds, and snow/ice/debris removal
  • Remove trash and dispose in designated areas
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and safe manner
  • Ensure building security and report violations
  • Report needs for major repairs and emergency maintenance issues
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures
  • Perform emergency on-call duties as required
  • Other related duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions & Physical Requirements

The role requires functioning in all types of weather, with medium to heavy physical work including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling and lifting up to 100 lbs. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs is necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or construction supervision
  • Basic knowledge of janitorial procedures
  • Ability to interact with residents and handle complaints discretely
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools (e.g., circular saw, power drill, hedge trimmer, etc.)
  • ALC lead paint certification
