Job Overview: Handyperson
Reporting to the Property Manager or Building Superintendent in the Maintenance department, this role is focused on maintaining a clean and safe environment across our managed properties.
Areas of Responsibility
- Monitor building and grounds to ensure a neat presentation
- Perform minor repairs including painting, plumbing, and carpentry
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in proper storage
- Conduct grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and snow removal
- Address emergency maintenance issues immediately
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
Essential Job Functions
This role requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, perform medium to heavy physical tasks, and maintain good eye/hand coordination.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or construction supervision is ideal
- Basic knowledge of janitorial procedures and tool usage
- Ability to interact effectively and handle complaints
- ALC lead paint certification is a plus
