Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst - China Focus

Join Insikt Group’s Strategic and Persistent Threats (SPT) team to lead efforts in tracking state-sponsored APT campaigns, mentor peers, represent industry expertise externally, and support Analyst-on-Demand services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive research on state-sponsored APT activity.
• Develop methods to track threat campaigns using network and malware analysis.
• Hunt threat actor infrastructure with technical data sources.
• Enhance threat intelligence workflows and automate processes.
• Mentor colleagues and collaborate with geopolitical analysis teams.
• Represent Insikt Group as a subject matter expert externally.
• Collaborate with engineering and data science teams for data integration.
• Support client intelligence needs through Analyst-on-Demand services.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT Security / Threat Intelligence.
• Strong technical threat analysis and research skills.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and networking protocols.
• Skilled in banner analysis, malware analysis, and metadata correlation.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python preferred) and CTI tools like Maltego and Jupyter Notebook.
• Familiarity with intelligence frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain).
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with writing detection signatures.
• Exposure to multi-platform environments and malware analysis.
• Foreign language skills, especially Chinese, are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000 - $160,000. Additional incentive compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits are available.
