Role Overview
The Process & Mechanical Designer Co-op Intern will support client-facing engineering projects. You will work with engineering & design teams, trades, and project management to develop diagrams, layouts, drawings, and models that power innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process flow diagrams, equipment, and piping drawings.
- Create general arrangement and layout drawings using Lean principles.
- Gather data and dimensions via hand measurements and 3D scanning.
- Collaborate with a senior design mentor for professional growth.
- Participate in internal and client meetings and design reviews.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing an AS or BS degree in Drafting/Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a similar field. Must have strong communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and be eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/3D and/or SolidWorks) and familiarity with ISO9001, Lean, Six Sigma are a plus. Applicants must be eligible under U.S. export control requirements.
Compensation and Work Location
This is an on-site co-op/internship position based in Rochester, NY and Rush, NY. The hourly rate is expected between $22 and $25.
