Overview

Join us as a DevOps Engineer at RBS. This excellent opportunity allows you to build our DevOps engineering capability, culture, and mindset within the bank. You will drive technical and cultural change, accelerate learning journeys, and progressively adopt our DevOps centre of excellence practices.

What you'll do

As a DevOps Engineer, you will support the Cloud and DevOps team to build a new hosting platform in AWS, and assist in migrating our services from private cloud to public cloud. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate measurement, understanding, and visualization of value flow
  • Collaborate across teams to continually improve the platform
  • Provide feedback on policies, standards, and tooling
  • Make data-driven decisions ensuring return on investment and long-term value

The skills you'll need

We are looking for candidates with experience in Infrastructure as Code and a solid understanding of software development with scripting (Python or Shell). Additional requirements include:

  • Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of AWS hosting and services
  • Experience with programming languages, preferably Java Spring Boot
  • Demonstrable CI/CD experience, preferably using Gitlab
  • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, and Prometheus

Additional Information

Working Hours: 35 hours per week. Job Posting Closing Date: 21/10/2025. Ways of Working: Hybrid.
