What is the opportunity
As a Digital Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience across our digital products. Your mandate is to lead the design of intuitive, accessible, and delightful user experiences that meet business goals and user needs. You will act as a strategic partner across cross-functional teams, advocating for the user, and applying a data-informed approach to craft seamless and impactful digital journeys.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with partners in Product and Development to ensure the user is at the centre of design decisions while taking product constraints into consideration.
- Communicate with UX Design leadership, stakeholders, and business leaders to ensure design efforts are moving forward to delivering on outcomes.
- Challenge the status quo through critical, analytical, and creative thinking.
- Produce the most applicable artifacts at each stage of the UX design process whether it be low, medium, or high fidelity, including user personas, journeys, prototypes, and concepts.
- Gain the optimal understanding of the users and their problems by conducting research including, stakeholder interviews, analytics, and usability testing etc.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate discovery, ideation, or co-creation workshops.
- Define the UI in adherence with RBC design standards (RIG) to meet regulatory requirements, including AODA.
- Keep the knowledge of UX/UI best practices up to date through continuous education and research.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-haves:
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions across digital platforms.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Experience working in agile or product development environments.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, UX research methods, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience contributing to or managing design systems.
- Familiarity with front-end development principles.
- Design experience for institutional client base.
- Familiarity with banking, custody and asset servicing industry.
