What is the Opportunity?
The Data Management Team at RBC is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Finance Core Technology Platform. CORE serves as a 'one-stop shop' for positions, Sub-ledger balances, and GL balances across all RBC front and back-office systems. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will derive requirements for new system onboarding within CORE, specifically related to RBC retail & capital market positional exposures, supporting various strategic regulatory programs. Additionally, you will support the enhancement of the existing data model framework within CORE to meet the diverse reporting needs of business users and other CORE functionalities, such as the Core Control Framework.
What will you do?
- Pro-actively communicate and collaborate with business clients to analyze functional, data, and non-functional requirements. Deliver appropriate artifacts, including business requirement documents, functional specifications, data specifications, use cases, workflow analysis, and reports.
- Act as the primary point of contact and interface with Finance/Risk business users for requirement delivery approach and for managing requirements interdependencies.
- As a key member of the project team, you will work with the project manager, development manager, developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Participate in and assist with business testing, solution readiness, operational readiness, and warranty support activities.
- Assess change requests, perform impact analysis, and identify/manage risks.
- Develop knowledge and become a subject matter expert resource, supporting the development of the application roadmap and solution design.
What do you need to succeed?
- Experience working in data-oriented projects using Iterative and Agile methodologies as a business or systems analysis lead.
- Experience working within an application landscape that includes data stores, DataMart, and data warehouses, with a strong understanding of data transfer and interaction mechanisms.
- Proficiency in writing SQL statements for qualitative and validation purposes.
