An exciting opportunity exists to join our semiconductor foundry team at the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

What You Will Do as a Semiconductor Foundry Engineer I

  • Perform failure analysis and data analysis on semiconductor devices.
  • Write software to program semiconductor foundry test equipment.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Handle GaAs and GaN wafers with precision.
  • Assist with various lithography, deposition, and etch processes.

What You Will Learn

  • Advanced data analysis and trouble-shooting techniques.
  • Programming test equipment for semiconductor applications.
  • Test automation methodologies.
  • Wafer fabrication techniques including lithography, deposition, and etch processes.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Less than 12 months of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with software like Python, Labview, MATLAB, Java, JMP.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity.
  • Interest in semiconductor processing.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
