About the role
Accounting Intern
Rapid Response Monitoring is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to support our accounting and finance team. This role offers hands-on experience in financial record-keeping and accounting procedures, contributing to daily clerical tasks and major financial activities. As an intern, you will gain valuable insights into various accounting functions within a leading national monitoring company.
Responsibilities
- Assist Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial, or Tax teams with daily tasks.
- Support the financial team during month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare documentation required for audits and financial reporting.
- Organize and maintain digital and physical financial documents.
- Update the accounting database and perform reconciliations with current information.
- Conduct account reconciliations and identify/report discrepancies.
- Support the Tax team by gathering and organizing financial data for compliance and audits.
- Perform tax research on regulatory updates and summarize findings.
- Help prepare schedules and documentation for tax filings and financial audits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential tax records.
- Assist with sales tax, property tax, and payroll tax compliance.
- Participate in special projects related to tax planning or process improvement.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fundamental understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced corporate environment and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to successfully clear a drug screen and background check.
