About the role

Cloud Engineer - Okta SME

Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Okta Workforce Identity platform with a strong background in DevOps and Cloud Engineering. This role involves integrating Okta APIs and scripting through CI/CD pipelines for planning, development, and release processes. You will be responsible for Global Authentication Services, including Federations, Okta SSO, and 2-Factor Authentication. Daily tasks include Okta application onboarding, client interactions, and implementation. You will provide expert-level development, technical, and troubleshooting support, maintaining comprehensive technical knowledge of infrastructure platforms, including testing and log analysis. Responsibilities also include production elevations, incident triage and resolution, and evaluating procedures for mitigation. This role requires identifying and implementing solutions for improvement and performance issues, as well as updating and maintaining SOP documentation. On-call and remote support during off-hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and release using Okta APIs and scripting within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage Global Authentication Services: Federations, Okta SSO, 2-Factor Authentication.
  • Perform daily Okta application onboarding and client implementation.
  • Provide expert technical and troubleshooting support for infrastructure platforms.
  • Conduct production elevations, triage, and resolve incidents effectively.
  • Identify and implement solutions for performance improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) documentation.
  • Be available for on-call and remote support during off-hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • Expert hands-on experience with Okta Workforce Identity Application onboarding and User provisioning.
  • Proficiency in authentication protocols such as SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and OAuth.
  • Expertise in DevOps Cloud Engineering, Okta API, Terraform, and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with build & release software management.
  • Expert hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ELB, EBS, VPC, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, and Lambda.
  • Experience with automation for AWS infrastructure provisioning and monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of Web applications and APIs (JWT, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML).
  • User provisioning using SCIM.
  • Expert hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and GITHUB code repository.
  • Experience with large program implementation, especially with packaged systems.
