About The Role
The Software Engineer, Accounting role is part of the Accounting Engineering team. You will build and maintain backend services that support Ramp’s accounting platform. Your work will ensure every transaction and automation reflects accurately on financial statements.
What You'll Do
- Own backend services powering Ramp’s accounting platform and rules engine.
- Build scalable systems processing millions of transactions.
- Lay technical foundation for AI agents in accounting categorizations.
- Improve internal developer tooling to accelerate team efficiency.
- Uphold standards around correctness, observability, and auditability.
What You Need
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience in fintech, accounting tech, or transactional systems.
- Experience with distributed systems and high data integrity requirements.
- Strong understanding of system design, reliability, and service observability.
- Proficiency in Python or a similar modern backend language.
- Ability to translate business needs into clean, precise code.
Nice to Have
- Background in compliance-heavy systems or regulated domains.
- Familiarity with financial integrations (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle).
- Interest in collaboration with AI/ML teams on intelligent accounting features.
- A balance between speed and accuracy in financial processes.
