About the Role

Ramp is seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will shape the collaboration between design and engineering teams. This role is a ground-floor opportunity to empower teams by evolving and maintaining our design system across design and front-end libraries, infrastructure, and documentation. You will work directly with product, engineering, and design teams to drive consistency and quality in our user experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and evolve Ramp’s cross-platform design system.
  • Contribute to the user experience for our core product through documentation and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to implement internal tooling.
  • Ensure high quality and accessibility in product interfaces.
  • Advocate for our users by iterating on product design and experience.
  • Support the evolution of long-term product vision and internal design collaboration.
  • Help hire new talent and bring diverse perspectives to the team.

What You Need

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tech startups or digital product agencies.
  • Strong proficiency in Product Design tools (preferably Figma).
  • Extraordinary visual design skills with a solid grasp of UX/UI principles.
  • Excellent front-end coding skills in semantic HTML, CSS (latest features), and JavaScript (React preferred).
  • Experience with reusable component libraries and attention to design detail in code.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a passion for clear documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge design and engineering.

Nice to Haves

Ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical peers and a solid understanding of accessibility development practices.
