About the Role

As the founding member of the Payments Operations team within Ramp’s Risk Strategy & Operations, the Risk Operations Lead - Payments will drive key operational initiatives related to payments. This role demands expertise in payment methodologies, operational workflows, and regulatory requirements. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Customer Support, Treasury, and Compliance teams to manage the full payment lifecycle, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a seamless payment experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and implement Ramp’s risk payment policy for internal and external interactions.
  • Triage, investigate, and reconcile payment transaction inaccuracies.
  • Manage refund requests, chargeback workflows, and keep stakeholders updated.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Payment Associations to meet reporting requirements and audits.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to deploy advanced risk management tools.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in handling credit and fraud risk.

What You Need

  • Minimum 5 years in Payment Operations, Payment Compliance, or related fields.
  • Expertise in ACH, NACHA, Swift rules and FX payments.
  • Experience in consumer, corporate, or small business cards, payments, invoices, or lending.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA/BS from an accredited university.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in high-growth startups and building complex financial products.
  • Knowledge of SQL or Python.
  • Strong background in customer support via phone.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation varies based on location. NYC/SF ranges from $124,700 to $208,350 while other locations range from $112,200 to $187,550.
