About The Role
The Risk Operations Lead - Payments will be the founding member of the Payments Operations team within Ramp’s Risk Strategy & Operations organization. This role requires deep understanding of payment methodologies, operational workflows, and regulatory requirements while managing risk vectors like credit and fraud.
What You’ll Do
- Shape and implement Ramp’s risk payment policy across various interactions.
- Triage, investigate, and reconcile payment transaction inaccuracies.
- Manage refund requests and chargeback workflows, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams on reporting and audits.
- Represent Ramp within Payment Associations and propose operational improvements.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to design risk management tools.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while managing credit and fraud risk.
What You Need
- Minimum 5 years in Payment Operations, Compliance, or related fields.
- Expertise with ACH, NACHA, Swift rules, and FX payments.
- Experience with consumer, corporate, or small business payments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong investigative and critical thinking skills.
- BA/BS from an accredited university.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in high-growth startups and building complex financial products.
- Knowledge of SQL or Python.
- Experience with phone-based customer support.
Compensation & Benefits
For candidates in NYC or SF, pay range is $124,700 - $208,350. For others, it is $112,200 - $187,550.
