Overview

This role, Specialist Contract Administration Business & Rights English Services, plays a key part in negotiating, preparing, administering and authorizing agreements, contracts, licensing fees and other contractual documents. The position is temporary long-term (fixed term) with a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and authorize program, personal services, distribution, and rights contracts.
- Provide guidance on collective agreements, policies, labor, tax and copyright laws.
- Monitor contracts, recommend changes and manage contractual language.
- Determine rights and obligations regarding broadcast and exploitation of programming.
- Develop contacts with copyright owners and industry organizations.
- Advise on international marketability and contractual strategies for program acquisition.
- Assign and oversee work of clerical staff, offering mentorship when required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in communication, media or a related field with at least five years’ directly related experience. Essential skills include deep negotiation capabilities, familiarity with content distribution platforms, data management, and strong business management insights specific to broadcasting.

This role involves a mix of in-office and remote work as per departmental guidelines. A background check, including a mandatory criminal record check, is required.
