Position Overview
At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians. As an Associate Producer Creator Network English Services, you will join a team dedicated to innovative digital storytelling emphasizing diverse perspectives. This is a full-time, 8-month fixed term position, with a possibility for extension.
Your Role
Reporting to the unit producer, you will work on developing and packaging compelling digital content across various formats including video, written pieces, photography, and graphic storytelling. You will connect with emerging creators and diverse communities, mentor new talent, and oversee projects from pitch to publication while ensuring adherence to CBC journalistic standards.
Key Tasks
- Build relationships with independent creators and digital communities.
- Develop, pitch, and refine original people-focused story ideas.
- Assist in producing content across multiple digital platforms.
- Collaborate across departments while maintaining journalistic standards.
- Manage multiple projects with different deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a university degree or equivalent with at least five years' practical experience in journalism and content production. You must be adept in storytelling, writing, editing, and have strong relationship-building skills. Video production skills are a plus, and you should be eager to learn new digital storytelling tools. Familiarity with media agreements, rights issues, and CBC policies is beneficial.
