Radar is seeking Red Team Security Engineers to focus on the security of their mobile & web SDKs and server-side APIs. As a geolocation and compliance company, this role is crucial for staying ahead of emerging threats, especially with products like 'Protect' that enforce precise jurisdictional geofences for regulated gaming. This is a key position that contributes to maintaining the company's competitive edge.How We Work
The engineering team at Radar is comprised of individuals with deep expertise, often former technical co-founders or interns from top universities. Engineers are encouraged to be 'Multi-Stack', willing to learn and contribute across mobile, data, frontend, and backend development. Radar emphasizes shipping quickly, engaging with customers, and maintaining a strong product vision. While Slack is the primary communication tool, in-person collaboration at the NYC HQ is valued for efficiency, with weekly planning meetings and the use of Linear for project management. The team is committed to significant weekly progress.The Stack
Radar's technology stack includes Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, React Native, and Flutter for mobile SDKs. The frontend is built with React, and the backend utilizes TypeScript and Rust. All services are deployed to AWS. Radar also sponsors OpenStreetMaps, MapLibre, and OpenAddresses.The Hiring Process
The hiring process begins with a call from a Technical Recruiter, followed by several technical Zoom interviews with engineering team members, including a code screen, a coding round, and a system design round. Successful candidates will be invited to the NYC HQ for a final round interview, which includes meeting a co-founder, a non-engineering team member, and other Radar employees to assess cultural fit and discuss work methodologies.What You’ll Do
- Attempt to circumvent Radar security & compliance checks through penetration tests against Radar mobile & web SDKs, desktop apps, and server-side APIs.
- Embody the 'Walk a mile' value by physically testing and debugging the Radar SDK.
- Conduct occasional travel throughout the US to verify the Radar SDK's compliance with per-state jurisdictional requirements.
- Engage with Radar customers and prospects to gather feedback, incorporate it into work, and ensure customer success.

- Have experience with mobile penetration testing.
- Have experience in regulated industries with sophisticated threat actors.
- Be interested in customer engagement and driving customer success.

For full-time positions in the United States, the base salary range is $200,000 - $300,000 per year, with potential for performance bonuses and incentives. Radar also offers stock option grants, providing a meaningful ownership stake. Salary is determined by role, level, and location. The provided range is a target for new hires across all US locations, and the final offer may vary based on market location, skills, experience, and education.
