The Innovation Office: AI-Centric Execution Unit

We're founding an AI-centric Innovation Office inside an established, well-capitalized Insurtech company. This is a purpose-built execution unit within Quility's enterprise structure, designed to move fast on unvalidated ideas without touching the production stack. We are focused on R&D, building time-boxed, hypothesis-driven prototypes, testing unit economics in the real world, and handing validated wins to the core Product team as de-risked business cases.

Your Role: Hands-on AI MVP Builder

We need a business-minded technical leader who builds and ships working MVPs using LLMs and AI-native tooling (Cursor, Claude, Codex). Your mandate is to take real business problems, quickly build working prototypes, iterate to determine their impact, and hand validated wins to our core Product team. You will personally write, deploy, and iterate working software, not specs. You will integrate data science by building the scaffolding for models to plug into real products and own the end-to-end user feedback loop through direct discovery interviews. You will also evaluate the opportunity by roughing out financial impacts and develop the team by managing two data scientists, ensuring their output and growth.

Team and Governance

You will directly manage two data scientists and have pre-approved budget to source and onboard a contract technical resource for acceleration. Direction is set in close partnership with the Chief Transformation Officer, with a lean monthly Steerco review as the extent of formal overhead. We protect you from BAU tickets, technical debt inheritance, and Jira theater, allowing for high-trust, rapid-iteration cycles.

What You'll Be Working On

The problems are real and the stakes are commercial. Examples include:

• An agent onboarding workflow that currently takes days, aiming to reduce it to hours with AI assistance.
• AI-assisted new agent training to improve productivity, engagement, and time to value.
• An AI layer to identify patterns in agent calls for coaching, aiming to improve close rates.

The backlog is live and you will help shape it.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a senior practitioner with a proven track record of shipping working software that real users have touched. You must provide a link to your work (live URL, portfolio, GitHub repo, or product demo). Direct experience building MVPs, evaluating business cases, conducting user discovery, and managing technical staff is essential. Strong signals include founding an early-stage company, experience with contract technical resources, operating in an innovation/venture studio context, and experience in insurance, fintech, or high-volume sales environments.
