Job Summary
Quest Diagnostics is seeking motivated, capable, and talented individuals with high levels of interest in business analytics and AI to join the internship program with the Enterprise Business Analytics group that supports the Commercial, Finance, and Marketing functions. This internship program will work on projects that leverage insights derived from machine learning and AI, automation, and scalable analytics to drive business impact and support the functions in delivering their business objectives. Success in this role requires strategic and analytic acumen, ability to connect analytics and business needs, and the ability to communicate to key stakeholders the results and insights that impact decision making. Internship Projects
The intern position will be assigned a senior leader within the EBA for mentorship and oversight. Some types of projects an intern may support across the functions include but not limited to:
- Finance: Financial modeling, risk/scenario models, financial planning, financial forecasting, revenue cycle management
- Marketing: Customer/persona segmentation, marketing mix modeling, campaign effectiveness, market/competitive intelligence, upstream marketing, multi-touch attribution, and multimodal content personalization
- Commercial: Market expansion modeling, geo-mapping/geo-analytics, sales and customer analytics, sales force effectiveness, targeting and opportunity identification, revenue forecasting, customer attrition, sales funnel/pipeline analytics, and prediction models
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and communicating analytical insights effectively for Finance, Commercial, and Marketing functions
- Work under the supervision of senior team members to create analytical models to support discovery phase analysis
- Mining vast amounts of data to identify business and customer trends / opportunities
- Build analytical models to form the foundation of business decisions and regularly monitor the performance of those models
- Experimenting with different combinations of our existing technology stack including AI and developing impactful use cases for proof-of-concept (POC) testing
- Demonstrating POCs value by assembling bits of technology in a virtual sandbox environment that will allow leadership to see a potential piece of technology/AI working with our existing systems
- Work against fixed timelines and key deliverables
- Skillfully convey complex analytical results and concepts into concise and actionable business-oriented summaries for the management team
- Work effectively in the analytics technology/AI stack that integrates predictive modeling, automation, and self-service analytics using AI-supported platforms and applications alongside existing Quest infrastructure – including but not limited to AI platforms (GPT), visualizations (PowerBI, Tableau), coding platforms/tools (Github, VS code), programming languages (Python, SQL, SAS), and database management.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically for in-person and stakeholder meetings as well as center-led or regional strategic meetings requiring advanced analytics support
Qualifications
- Education: Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Physics
- Experience: Intern or work experience with predictive analytics, pattern recognition, or data mining/data analysis preferred
