About the Role

Qualitest, a leading AI-powered Quality Engineering company, is seeking an ETL Test Engineer to join our Data Testing team. The candidate will ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness across complex data ecosystems.

This role focuses on validating data movement, transformation, and reconciliation between source systems and target destinations such as Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Reporting Platforms. You will work closely with data engineers, ETL developers, and business analysts to meet defined quality standards and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute ETL test strategies and test cases.
  • Perform data reconciliation testing across multiple systems.
  • Validate ETL processes from source to target systems.
  • Develop SQL scripts and automated validation queries for large data sets.
  • Participate in test planning, defect triage, and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure testing covers data quality dimensions like accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Support continuous improvement through automation and process optimization.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment contributing to sprint planning.

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience in Data Reconciliation Testing and validating data movement.
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes, data integration, and validation techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL including joins, aggregations, and subqueries.
  • Familiarity with Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Reporting/BI environments.
  • Experience with defect management tools like JIRA or ALM.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory.
  • Knowledge of data testing automation frameworks or scripting (Python, PySpark).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms for data processing and validation.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Hive, Spark, and Snowflake.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000.
