Overview
Qualcomm Technologies International Ltd is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join the open source community team. In this role, you will improve the quality of Qualcomm's open source offerings and contribute upstream to major projects.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Build scalable tooling for various open source distributions.
- Improve Linux kernel, Yocto/OE, Debian, security software and boot firmware on Qualcomm platforms.
- Work with OSS & upstream initiatives within the Qualcomm Central Software Engineering team.
- Represent Qualcomm at industry events and conferences.
- Mentor and build expertise within the Foundries and Qualcomm OSS teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have hands-on open source software development experience; expertise in C, C++, Assembly and a high-level language such as Python, Go, or Rust; a proven track record with upstream contributions; deep knowledge in embedded software, bootloaders, Linux kernel and distributions; excellent technical and communication skills; and a relevant degree.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in multimedia, Linux kernel subsystems, and networking areas is an advantage.
