Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical QA Engineer who doesn’t just “find bugs” but ensures the soul of the product remains intact. You’ll work on a high-traffic hybrid product where transitions, snappiness, and content integrity are everything. You won’t just report that a screen is blank; you’ll dive into logs, check API responses, and tell us why it’s happening.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Product Feel: Be the final gatekeeper for UX polish. Audit micro-interactions, scrolling physics, and layout fidelity across web and mobile.
- Master the Data Pipeline: Validate the flow from WordPress (ACF/WP-JSON) through the API layer to the final user. Ensure everything looks perfect when published.
- Lead Technical Root Cause Analysis: Use Charles Proxy, Sentry, or Browser DevTools to pinpoint whether an issue is CSS, API, or configuration related.
- Hybrid Ecosystem Oversight: Manage app performance across iOS and Android wrappers (React Native / Cordova / Capacitor).
- Performance Benchmarking: Keep Core Web Vitals in the green and ensure apps feel native and responsive on all devices.
Required Skills
- Mobile Debugging: Expert in Xcode/Android Studio logs and Safari/Chrome remote inspection.
- API & Backend: Skilled in Postman/Insomnia, JSON Schema validation, and REST/GraphQL investigation.
- CMS Familiarity: Understanding of WordPress (ACF, Gutenberg) and headless CMS mapping.
- Network & Logs: Experience with proxy tools (Charles/Fiddler) and log aggregators (Sentry/Cloudwatch).
- Automation Strategy: Define E2E tests (Playwright, Appium, etc.) for regression-heavy media flows.
Who You Are
- Investigative by Nature: You don’t stop until you find the “why.”
- UX Obsessed: You notice when a transition lags by 100ms or a font-weight doesn’t match the Figma spec.
- High Agency: You take ownership of delivery and drive quality without hand-holding.
- Bridge Builder: You translate technical failures into actionable fixes for developers and stakeholders.
