Join the Banking Operations - Payments Team

This role is critical for driving cross-functional projects and enabling the team to scale effectively. Reporting directly to Justine, Head of BO Payments, your responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives across Cards, SEPA/SWIFT, Debt Collection, Local Payments, Logistics, and Controls. You will leverage technical skills in SQL and AI to enhance monitoring, automation, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic & regulatory projects: Coordinate cross-team stakeholders (Ops, Product, Tech, Legal, Risk, Compliance) to define owners and deadlines. Own the end-to-end follow-up of Internal Audit and Compliance recommendations, proactively identifying and mitigating risks for sustainable implementation.
• Scale operations through data & automation: Utilize SQL and analytics tools (e.g., Metabase) to build dashboards and conduct cohort analyses. Collaborate with Ops Leads to pinpoint bottlenecks, design automations, and explore pragmatic Generative AI use cases to enhance team efficiency.
• Support operational readiness: Ensure the Operations team is prepared for new product launches. This involves mapping impacts, updating procedures and knowledge bases, and assisting in the design of run-mode KPIs.
• Strengthen risk management & controls: Translate risk and audit findings into clear, actionable plans. Challenge existing processes using data to minimize manual checks, reduce rework, and decrease the likelihood of incidents.

About Your Manager

You will report to Justine, Head of Banking Operations Payments. She leads the team responsible for ensuring secure and efficient payment operations across all Qonto markets and brings extensive experience in banking operations and control frameworks. She is dedicated to building a scalable control environment and fostering team member development.

About You

• Experience: 3-5+ years in Operations, Business Operations, Project Management, Consulting, Data, or Product, preferably in financial services, fintech, or payments.
• Project Management Mastery: Proven ability to structure work, align diverse stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure thorough follow-up.
• Data & Technical Skills: Solid SQL skills for query writing, adaptation, and basic dashboard creation. Experience in making data-driven decisions and translating insights into actionable strategies.
• Operational Rigor: High standards for operational risk, compliance, and documentation. Experience with internal controls, audit follow-ups, or regulatory projects is a significant advantage.
• Languages: Fluency in French (spoken and written) is required.
• Bonus Points: Experience in specific payment areas (Cards, SEPA/SWIFT, Debt Collection), familiarity with back-office tools (like Forest), or practical experience with Generative AI tools.
