Data Engineer at Qode

Location: Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Dallas, TX

Employment Type: Full-time

This role focuses on Data Engineering and Data Analysis in the Banking domain. The ideal candidate has 6-7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, a strong background in Hadoop technologies, Python, Spark, and experience in ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on Hadoop stack (Hadoop, PySpark, HBase, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Scala, Flume, HDFS, MapReduce)
  • Develop solutions using Python and Kafka
  • Design and implement ETL programs including data pre-processing, extraction, ingestion, quality checks, normalization, and loading
  • Apply database concepts, data design, and data modeling techniques
  • Participate in Agile projects using Jira
  • Engage in client-facing activities and coordinate deliverables across the SDLC

Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of Machine Learning Models and Artificial Intelligence is preferred
  • Experience with AWS data components and data analytics is a plus
  • Knowledge of data modeling tools like Erwin is beneficial
