Job Description

GCP Cloud Engineer with Networking and Security Focus

We are partnering with a leading enterprise client to secure three experienced GCP Cloud Engineers with strong networking and security capability. This is a hands-on role supporting a complex cloud environment, with responsibility across networking, firewall management, secure web proxy, and observability.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, managing, and supporting core networking and security services within GCP, including:

  • GCP Networking & NCC
    • VPC design, routing, and connectivity
    • Network Connectivity Centre (NCC) operations
    • Troubleshooting routing and connectivity issues
  • Next Gen Firewall (Palo Alto via GCP NSI)
    • Firewall policy management
    • Security profile configuration
    • Firewall rule changes
    • Threat log review and response
  • Secure Web Proxy (SWP)
    • Web filtering policies and category controls
    • Troubleshooting proxy-related issues including certificate errors and blocked traffic
  • Monitoring, Observability & Alerting
    • Working with metrics, logs, and traces
    • Building dashboards
    • Alert tuning and optimisation
    • Root cause analysis

About You

You will bring strong experience across GCP networking and cloud security controls within large enterprise environments. You are comfortable operating hands-on, troubleshooting complex connectivity and security issues, and working closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams.

This is a Melbourne-based role with three days per week onsite. If you are available for a new contract and have strong GCP networking and security experience, we’d welcome a confidential discussion.
