The Role: VP, Head of AI

This role is responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise AI/GenAI strategy and execution at PURE Insurance. Reporting to the Chief Data & Analytics Officer, the VP, Head of AI oversees Data Science, AI Engineering, and MLOps teams, delivering production-ready, high-impact solutions.

  • Lead and grow multidisciplinary teams in AI and data science.
  • Partner with leadership for strategic AI/GenAI initiatives.
  • Shape AI philosophy on build vs. buy solutions.
  • Ensure ethical, responsible use of AI across projects.
  • Measure and communicate business value and ROI effectively.

The Ideal Candidate

Candidates should have a strong background in computer science, mathematics, or engineering with over 10 years of experience in data science and AI, including at least 3 years in senior leadership roles. Hands-on expertise with machine learning models, deep learning, NLP, computer vision and generative AI is essential.

  • Experience in deploying AI solutions into production.
  • Skilled in leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to deliver MVPs quickly and scale responsibly.
  • Understanding of organizational change management.
