Job Details

Mission

To address the tire needs of customers in a safe, approved manner using the proper tools and proper techniques.

Essential Duties

  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply.
  • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights.
  • Dismount wheels from vehicles using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Mount wheels onto vehicles.
  • Reassemble tires onto wheels.
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
  • Locate and seal punctures.
  • Perform lube, oil, filter, tire services on passenger and light truck vehicles.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Maintain tools and related tire accessories.
  • Keep a clean shop reflecting the proper corporate image.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs safely.
  • Regular attendance per schedule.
  • Perform physical tasks as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Pay and Benefits

Total Compensation Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour, including hourly pay and service commissions. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, Flex-Spending, Health Savings Account and 401(k) with company match.

Drug Testing

Purcell Tire conducts THC and other drug screenings due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job.

Requirements

Education & Experience: High School diploma, 1-2 years job-specific experience, and vendor-provided training along with Tire Industry Association CTS certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Tire industry expertise, customer service skills, mechanical skills, communication (English, active listening, writing, and speaking), equipment selection, phone systems, critical and deductive reasoning, and service orientation.
