Job Details

Mission

To sell automotive service, tires, and tire-related services within commercial centers or retail centers with commercial capabilities.

Essential Duties

  • Sell inventory on hand.
  • Ensure highest levels of customer service.
  • Use point of sale system to prepare work orders describing symptoms, problems, and causes.
  • Resolve customer concerns or complaints.
  • Follow pricing policies to achieve satisfactory gross margins.
  • Obtain customer approval via signature for authorized work.
  • Handle daily cash, credit, national account, and fleet transactions.
  • Meet sales goals and quotas set by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean shop and waiting area to reflect the corporate image.
  • Clean, restock, and update store displays daily.
  • Use proper telephone answering techniques.
  • Solicit new accounts.
  • Protect company assets including inventory, cash, receivables, equipment, and real estate.
  • Embrace a culture of safety and perform all jobs safely.
  • Regular attendance per assigned schedule.
  • Perform physical requirements as listed in the job description.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Drug Testing

Due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job, Purcell Tire conducts THC and other drug screenings as permitted by state exceptions to ensure technicians are unimpaired.

Requirements

Education & Experience: Minimum Associate's Degree or Trade School; 3-5 years job-specific experience; 1-2 years management experience.

Licenses & Certifications: Driver’s License, Tire Industry Association CTS certification, vendor-provided training.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA’s)

  • Tire Industry: Knowledge of tire brands, designs, safe procedures, and customer markets.
  • Administration and Management: Understanding of business principles, resource allocation, planning, and leadership.
  • Customer Service: Expertise in customer needs assessment and achieving high service quality.
  • Mathematics: Proficient in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
  • Sales and Marketing: Skilled in product demonstration, sales techniques, and promotional strategies.
  • Tools & Technology: Proficient with AS400, Microsoft Office, accounting software, typing (55 wpm), calculator, and phone systems.
  • Cognitive: Critical thinking, problem sensitivity, deductive and inductive reasoning.
  • Communication: Strong English language skills; active listening; effective writing and speaking.
  • Persuasion: Ability to influence decision making.
  • Service Orientation: Actively seeking ways to assist customers.
