Research Assistant at PULSE MEDIA

This Research Assistant role involves supporting a large-scale project designed to improve the performance and reasoning capabilities of advanced AI systems through supervised fine-tuning (SFT).

What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing original prompts that span a broad range of general knowledge and interdisciplinary topics
- Evaluating AI-generated content for logical consistency, completeness, factual reliability, and clarity
- Editing and enhancing responses to better align with human reasoning and communication standards
- Creating multiple variations of prompts and responses by adjusting tone, complexity, formatting, and instructions
- Detecting areas where the model struggles (e.g., ambiguity, flawed logic, incomplete reasoning) and documenting these findings
- Supporting benchmarking efforts by contributing structured comparisons and qualitative assessments
- Ensuring consistent formatting, quality control, and adherence to project standards across all submissions
- Providing constructive written feedback that improves dataset cohesion and training value
Your contributions will help shape how AI systems interpret instructions, reason through problems, and deliver more accurate outputs.
Qualifications & Background
- At least two years of experience in research, academic work, technical or creative writing, editing, analysis, curriculum development, or related fields
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, organized manner
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to evaluate arguments, detect inconsistencies, and refine reasoning
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Comfort working autonomously and adapting to evolving documentation and workflows
- Experience with AI writing tools, language models, or prompt engineering is advantageous but not required
