About the Role
The Senior Community Engagement Officer at Public Sector People on behalf of Mosman Council strengthens community connections through inclusive engagement and impactful communications in a forward-thinking local government organisation.
This role is pivotal in leading community engagement and corporate communications, ensuring Council initiatives are well-communicated and that community participation is embedded in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate inclusive consultation activities including surveys, workshops, and pop-up sessions.
- Provide expert advice on engagement, risk management, and evaluation.
- Draft and deliver clear communication materials for diverse audiences.
- Manage Council’s online engagement platform and report consultation outcomes.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships ensuring community voices are heard.
- Support continuous improvement in engagement and communications practices.
What You’ll Bring
Applicants should have degree-level qualifications (or equivalent experience) in communications, public relations, social sciences or related disciplines. A strong track record in community engagement and communications projects, excellent communication skills, proficiency in digital engagement tools, and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. High-level interpersonal skills and a commitment to inclusivity and best practice service delivery are key.
