About the Role
The Communications Officer role at Public Sector People is a 9 month contract opportunity with potential for extension. In this role, you will develop and implement strategic communications plans, manage media enquiries, and craft engaging content for multiple audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft high-quality media releases, press kits, and communications materials.
- Manage media enquiries and build productive relationships with journalists.
- Develop content for both digital and traditional media platforms.
- Implement and assess communications and marketing plans.
- Identify and create compelling stories showcasing services and achievements.
- Contribute to overall communication strategy and liaise with internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in media relations and public relations.
- Local government experience is a plus.
- Experience in developing multi-channel communication campaigns.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
