C/NET Solutions' CNExT Cancer Registry software is crucial for Cancer Registrars in meeting mandated cancer reporting and population analysis at medical centers. Coupled with our Cancer Alert System, it enhances the efficiency of cancer identification and reporting. We adhere to stringent HIPAA and security regulations, providing secure remote access. All C/NET Solutions software operates effectively in mixed technology environments demanding the highest standards in database security and remote accessibility.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated SaaS Health IT Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development and proven experience in transitioning legacy software products to modern, cloud-based SaaS solutions. This role necessitates collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure SaaS applications.

This position reports directly to the Programmer Analyst Manager at C/NET Solutions. The SaaS Health IT Developer will contribute to the planning, design, and development of new software products, as well as the ongoing development and maintenance of C/NET’s current offerings, CNExT and CAS. A critical aspect of this role involves analysis, design, programming, debugging, testing, and supporting all infrastructure systems related to the production and sales of C/NET Solutions’ software products. The incumbent must be responsive to staff with varying levels of technological expertise and diverse needs, capable of working independently or within a project team to research and resolve complex software-related problems.

This is a remote, regular full-time position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week. The incumbent must be able to work during core business hours for the Pacific Time zone and occasionally work more than 40 hours a week and on weekends. Candidates in the United States (all Time Zones) are welcome to apply. This position may require travel two times per year to attend internal meetings in the United States.

The full salary range for this position is $102,876 to $154,966 per year. The typical hiring range is from $102,876 (minimum) to $128,921 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and budget availability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable, and secure architectures for new SaaS products.
  • Evaluate existing legacy systems to identify opportunities for modernization and migration to SaaS platforms.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Implement features and functionalities based on project and user requirements.
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance SaaS product functionality.
  • Deploy SaaS applications to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Monitor application performance and address any issues or bugs post-deployment.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Write documentation and instructional materials on new technologies for users, testers, and design proposals.
  • Provide cross-training within the programming staff.
  • Assist staff with customer support issues.
  • Access to Protected Health Information: Comply with all C/NET Solutions and Public Health Institute policies on confidentiality and HIPAA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of proven experience in software development in Health IT, with a focus on SaaS products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, communications technology, design and visual communication or other related field; or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of HL7 FHIR and other health data standards.
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL and SQLite) and experience with database design and optimization.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cancer data.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for SaaS applications.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).
