Role Summary: Senior Consultant - Education
PCG is seeking an engaging, outgoing, and experienced self-starter to significantly grow its Education Consulting business line. The Senior Consultant - Education will become deeply familiar with education leaders and the critical issues facing state and local education agencies. Success in this role will be measured by client project outcomes, contract renewals, and the execution of robust business development strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as project manager and subject matter expert, independently managing complex projects and maintaining strong client interactions.
- Develops and executes growth strategies, actively identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities.
- Provides expertise in business operations to improve service delivery and efficiency.
- Develops communication plans, elicits requirements from key stakeholders, and facilitates client discussions.
- Identifies gaps and shortcomings, and determines necessary workarounds and solutions.
- Develops project budgets and staffing plans, ensuring high-quality services are delivered on time and within budget.
- Plans and monitors ongoing project tasks, delegating responsibilities effectively to team members.
- Assesses best practices, identifies compliance errors, and provides technical assistance to clients.
- Leads proposal writing teams and prepares comprehensive written reports and materials for clients.
Required Skills:
- Proven ability to develop and implement business growth strategies, identify and close new business opportunities, and upsell to existing customers.
- Strong research, analytical, and interpretive skills for education policy, briefs, and regulations.
- Creative problem-solving ability and a client-centric consultancy mindset.
- Ability to work independently and consistently achieve excellent results with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding oral and written presentation skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship building across all management levels and client interactions.
- Willingness to master multiple PCG products and services to support overall Education Consulting growth.
- Strong project management skills, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to advance projects within specified timelines and budgets.
- Commitment to exceptional client service, dedication to accomplishing goals, and critical evaluation skills for process improvement.
- Flexible, self-starter with intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous learning on current business issues.
- Adept at operating both in team settings and autonomously.
- Strong proficiency in communication, analysis, critical thinking, attention to detail, and multi-tasking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of equivalent experience required; a graduate degree is a plus.
- At least five years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience in Special Education, Curriculum, or K-12 education leadership is highly desired.
Working Conditions & Travel:
This is a remote position. Additional preference is given to candidates located in the Boston, Charlotte, New York, Philadelphia, D.C., Atlanta, or Nashville regions. Travel to client sites, business conferences, and PCG meetings is required approximately 20-30% of the time.
Compensation:
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies based on factors including office location, specific role, skill set, and experience level. The reasonable compensation range for this role is $90,100 - $130,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401k, PTO, parental leave, and bereavement leave. PCG does not sponsor newly hired foreign national workers for work authorization.
