Role Overview: QA Manager

The QA Manager is responsible for overseeing the testing process by developing test strategies and plans, guiding a team of testers, and collaborating with development teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive test strategies and define scope and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support the QA testing team.
  • Test Execution & Analysis: Oversee creation and execution of test cases, both manual and automated.
  • Defect Management: Document, track, and manage defects using bug tracking systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams such as developers, project managers, and business analysts.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver status reports detailing testing progress and quality metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously enhance testing processes and methodologies.

Duties and Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Quality Assurance team.
  • Manage operations, schedule, and project deliverables for the department.
  • Assess staffing needs and implement personal and technical growth plans.
  • Design test conditions and scripts to cover both business and technical use cases.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews to ensure compliance with procedures and controls.
  • Analyze and execute test data validation strategies to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Manage specification reviews and decide measurable requirements for testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and executing functional testing deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-level collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of performance testing for web applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s is preferred.
  • 7+ years of QA experience with 1-2 years in a supervisory role.

Working Conditions & Compensation

This role is based in an office setting. Compensation is competitive and varies based on location, role, and experience, with a range provided between $85,900 and $95,900 plus benefits including medical, dental, 401k, PTO, parental leave, and bereavement leave.
