About the Senior Archivist Role
Are you a strong leader with archival expertise? This opportunity at Public & Business Services & Procurement allows you to bring your project management skills and archival knowledge to the Archives Division in Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to archivists and archival staff on projects.
- Develop strategies and determine scheduling priorities independently.
- Advise management and staff on archival practices.
- Appraise and arrange archival records from government and private sources.
- Provide comprehensive reference services and coordinate outreach activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to lift and move 35-50lb archival material containers.
- Expertise in archival appraisal, acquisition, arrangement, preservation, and access issues.
- Knowledge of archival theory, Rules for Archival Description, and related legislations.
- Strong project management, time management, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex topics and prepare reports.
